West Ashley Greenway Bird Watching Tour

Tour Description

We will explore the "West" end of the West Ashley Greenway! This section of the West Ashley Greenway has woodlands, maritime forest, salt marsh and tidal creeks. The Greenway attracts a variety of birds throughout the year including shorebirds, wading birds, songbirds, gulls, woodpeckers, raptors and more! We will walk along a former railway now a level pathway that is part of the City of Charleston's Park system. *Each Participant will receive a Holy City Birding BIRD Patch! The Tour will be on foot (Approximately .8 of a mile walk out and .8 of a mile walk back) The duration will be 1 hour and 30 minutes. We will meet and finish at the parking lot located near 3484 McLeod Mill Road, Johns Island, SC 29455 Binoculars are recommended. (Vortex Binoculars are available to rent) Items to wear/bring: comfortable clothing for the current weather conditions, comfortable walking shoes. (Max 6 participants)
